which is easier to play —Acoustic or Electric guitar?
My vote would go to the electric guitar, although honestly I think it depends on what style you are planning to play. I’d go with the electric mainly because I think as a beginner, it’s easier to play around on the electric and get some decent sounds than it would be on the acoustic. When I was starting out, being able to play bits and pieces of various songs I knew and liked on the guitar was a really great motivator for me to want to play more and practice and get better. Also, the fact that you can play around with amp settings and those types of things might make it easier for you to sound good and have fun when starting out. One drawback would be that it can get expensive to own an electric, since you have to worry about getting an amp and a guitar, instead of just worrying about buying a basic acoustic you can use.
