Which is easier to learn for an English speaker Chinese or Japanese?
I don’t think Japanese is more difficult than Chinese. It’s logic is much like western languages, and basically most of what you have to do is learn the basic patterns and then memorize the words. In Chinese you first have to master the tones, then to learn the basic grammar only to find out later that the rule is actually the exception, and in the end – Chinese has more words for everything than any other language… From experience, Japanese is much easier, especially if you already know Chinese. מקרן מקרנים
