In Thailand you can eat on about $5 USD (2.5 GBP) a day but you can also eat rather cheaply in Dubai. However, a nice meal will be twice as expensive in Dubai than in Thailand. Housing is also more expensive in Dubai, and it will be hard to get really cheap accommodation if you are traveling there as a single female. One last thing to consider will be that in August it is EXTREMELY HOT in Dubai-to the point where you will be strictly indoors until 9 or 10 at night. Thailand has much better (tolerable/pleasant) weather during this time. Either way, have fun!
