Which is better?aeronautical engineering or aircraft maintainance engineering?
Depends on whether you want to sit at a desk for the rest of your life, or get your hands dirty by actually working on airplanes. With an Aeronautical Engineering degree, you may spend your your entire career sitting at a desk, designing or refining small parts that are used to make up an airplane, but you may never actually see or work on a complete aircraft. A person with this kind of degree will probably work for a design or engineering firm, not an actual airline. An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer actually goes out into the field and turns wrenches to repair and maintain airplanes. They spend half their lifetimes cursing aeronautical engineers who design airplanes with little-bitty crawlspaces where the maintenance engineer has to stand on his head to change out a pump or a valve.
