Which is better, Wacom Intuos 4 or Wacom Bamboo Fun?
The Intuos4 is the better of the two. Difference 1: The Bamboo Fun has 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. The Intuos4 has over 2,000 levels. What this means is the Intuos4 is more sensitive to lighter pressures which translates into smoother blending and less jarring stroke thicknesses. Difference Two: The Intuos4 comes with a variety of nibs (pen tips) for different types of drawing and feels. The Bamboo Fun just has the standard nib. Difference Three: The Intuos4 has a larger array of programmable Quick Keys that you can tell to do pretty much anything. The Intuos4 is a bit more expensive though. The Intuos4 is really meant more for professionals or people who do heavy illustration. For a first tablet I would go with the Bamboo. It’s still a good tablet. My first tablet was a Bamboo, and even though I now have a Intuos4 Large, I still have my old bamboo and use it when I go on business trips because it still can do the job. Save your money (for now) and Bamboo it.
