Which is better, Visa or MasterCard?
The thing you have to understand is that NEITHER Visa nor Mastercard are in charge of your credit card terms and conditions. They are simply the companies that run the computer network infrastructure that processes the transactions. Worldwide, Visa has a larger market share than Master Card and so is more widely accepted. If you travel outside North America a great deal that might be one advantage that would prompt you to choose a Visa card over a Master Card. Within North America, both brands are accepted almost universally, so neither has any real advantage. Best advice: choose the credit card (Visa or Master Card) from the issuing bank (MBNA, Capital One, CitiBank, your local credit union, etc.) that offers you the best terms.
