Which is better to make a simple blanket for a beginner: Crocheting or Knitting?
Since you say you are a beginner, I am going to assume you are trying to figure which one to learn well enough to create a nice project. I am going to recommend crochet. It is easier to learn. With crochet, you only have one hook in one hand and the yarn in the other. With knitting, you have a needle in each hand to hang onto and than you still have to deal with your yarn You can make a nice throw blanket fairly quickly. the first stitch you learn in crocheting is the chain stitch. The second is usually single crochet and the thrid is usually a double crochet. You also learn to weave in the ends. Now, if you know how to do all of these, you can make the following blanket. Since I have no way of knowing how much yarn you will need, I recommend you use Red Heart Super Saver yarn. There are no dye lots to deal with so you will not have to match yarn.
