Which is better the flat map or the globe?
A globe is always more accurate. A 2 dimensional flat map always creates distortion somewhere, depending on the particular projection for the 2 dimensional map. Mercator projections turn the points of the north and south poles into lines so that land areas are severely distorted in shape. Polar projections have less shape distortion along the equator, but they can only show one hemisphere ( north or south), not the whole world.
