Which is better: the Canon AE-1 or T70?
On One Hand: Revolutionizing PhotographyCanon revolutionized photography in 1976 by introducing the AE-1, a camera with internal electronics that amounted to an internal computer. Advances in production also made the camera lighter, and much more inexpensive, than earlier models–making quality cameras easy to use and affordable to the general publc.On the Other: Advancing the RevolutionThe T-70, introduced in 1984, took what the AE-1 had created and built upon those advances. Photography was made even simpler by removing the need to make any settings at all. The camera was designed to perform with electronic precision at unheard-of speed.Bottom LineBoth the AE-1 and the T-70 were excellent cameras in their day. Both are of limited practical use now because of digital photography.
