Which is better, Paradise Lost or Dantes Inferno?

Oh wow, that is a tough one. Milton himself, who seems to have had an inferiority complex of sorts, was greatly influenced by Dante and probably would advise you to read the Divine Comedy. Personally, I have an affinity for Paradise Lost. It is arguable the best peice of literature in the English langage. That’s another plus: Paradise Lost was originally written in English, while the Inferno was written in Italian. If you will be reading in English, you may get more out of reading something in its original language as opposed to a translation. Really, they are both fabulous and I would suggest that as soon as you finish your first choice, you immdiately pick up the other book and plunge into it!
