Which is better, LCD or Plasma HDTVs?
Neither is better than the other but both have advantages and disadvantages. LCD’s don’t dim over time, have a wider viewing angle and are generally cheaper. Plasmas have a deeper black level which mean they look better in a bright room and usually have faster pixel refresh which will let them play games and watch sports a little better but tend to dim as time goes on. Honestly if you don’t need to hang it on the wall save some money and get a DLP. DLPs are lighter, cheaper, and have great black levels. Their one big draw back was that had bulbs that needed to be replaced every few years for about $200. Now they make LCD bulbs which help the picture as well as eliminate the need for replacement. To determine if you need a plasma or LCD you have to answer a couple of questions. If your room has a lot of ambient light, ( I.E. windows) LCD is best. Because the screen is made of plastic. This will greatly reduce reflectivity and glare. Plasma screens are made of glass and will reflect more light giving you a glare that will make viewing in the day time difficult in a bright room. Despite what most others have answered. Plasma’s are heavier than LC D’s. So if you would like to mount the TV on the wall, LCD’s are easier to hang. I recommend Sharp TVs.
it all depends on the size of the tv. here is a website which gives the advantages off both LCD and Plasma TV’s. http://hometheater.about.com/od/lcdtvfaq…
