Well, iPod IS a MP3 player, and most people go for iPod because it gets most publicity which made it the ‘coolest’. However as reviewers know, it’s NOT THE BEST mp3 player: 1. Sound quality. It just sounds OK, for the general non-complicated population. To customise the sound quality is a hassle. For sound quality, go for Cowon -they’re the best in that sector. 2. Design. Obviously one way Apple’s succeeded with their iPod is through their ‘minimalist’ design, which makes it look classy, yet with the general population (as they’re so popular). …but personally I think iRiver outclasses the iPod in design and the user interface. 3. Additional features: iPod’s being released with little additional features compared to other generic no-brand mp3 players. iPods (not including iPod Touch) play music, and just a BIT more… while others may also have radio, voice recording, radio recording, line-in recording etc. etc. The new iPod nanos (5th generation) will have radio and voice recording..
