Which is better for a freshwater aquarium,sands or gravel?
Gravel is certainly easier to clean, but sand looks pretty cool. The thing that makes sand difficult to clean is that it gets sucked up easily and can clog your vacuum, but that can be fixed by not putting it in too deep into the sand and moving slowly. It’s just a bit more tedious for the cleaning. Also, the other problem with sand is that depending on the color, it really shows the debris and waste quickly. Look at some tanks at the fish store and see what you prefer. It’s quite difficult to change after you have your tank set up, so be sure that you are getting what you want.
