Which is better, Callanetics or Lotte Berk Method?
Lotte Berke based her workouts on something that has been around for about a century (after all, injuries in dancers are nothing new). Shoot, come to think of it, the human body has been around much longer than that, and basically, can only move in so many ways, so in reality, there really isn’t much that is new. I work in a school where we teach some movement based techniques, and I wanted to do some more investigation on the topic – however, what actually swayed my opinion on the method where the reviews that buyers left on Amazon – while it seems like a great idea, most of the reviews said the DVDs were boring, repetitive, annoying, etc. I would suggest you take a look there. What I ended up with, and happen to like are the “8 minute” series of DVD’s – you can buy them all on one DVD then run them all if you want a much longer work out. 8 minutes doesnt seem like long, but they are hard! If you have muscle groups to rehabilitate, I would check out pilates or yoga (all used by dancer
