Which is better a Dobsonian or a Celestron Telescope?
You’ve got a lot more research to do independently – as has been noted one is a telescope configuration and the other is a brand. Do some more reading and try to figure out a rough idea of what you want independently – it is easy for people here to say what they would get without reference to what is best for you. When reading consider that on your budget you will be looking at probably an 8-10″ Dobsonian, a equatorially mounted Newtonian in the 6-8″ range or a reasonable refractor – size almost entirely dependent on the quality of the refractor, anywhere between 2-5″. Although you can get more scope for your money on paper avoid anything with much better specification than given here since quality has to suffer in order to bring it in on budget. Similarly, I would tend to avoid computerised scopes since on your budget there isn’t enough for anything other than a second rate computer attached to a second rate telescope.
