Between the two brands, I would choose a 35mm “film” Nikon camera because “film” provides the largest sized imagery possible. The Nikon digital cameras are very much limited in that regard. Good luck!

Among compact cameras, I think Canon has the advantage. Among DSLR’s the competition is a lot closer. I favor the Nikons. Of course since I have lenses and a dedicated Nikon flash, I’m kind of committed to favoring Nikon.
