My best recommendation is to find a Callaway dealer, fitting cart, or demo day and hit both models. Always call ahead to determine if both combinations are available. The 990 model is lighter and if your body and swing like a lighter shaft weight, then you will certainly gain more distance than the 1100. Conversely, if your body and swing like a heavier shaft weight, then you will do better with the 1100 versus the 990 model. However, live testing is where you want to be.
