Which is a better digital camera: sony or canon?
I have had extensive experience with Sony digital cameras and video cameras and it has not been good. I was a major Sony fan and have their Tvs and Computers as well. It appears that Sony Cameras fail even when used lightly or not at all. If you search the web you will see a host of issues. The main one is that the CCDs fail and you loose the view screen display. Sony recognizes this issue but wants you to pay for the fix. When you complain they state that there have been extensive recalls and they are now expired. I have never received any notices even though I own 8 cameras and 5 video camera. So far I have had 4 digital Sony cameras fail and 3 Sony video cameras. I imagine the cameras were made in the same factory or used components from a vendor with very poor quality control. The Sony digital cameras were not cheap.
