Which inhaler should I use first, Proventil or Flovent?
• Q: I have two different inhalers. Which do I take first, the Proventil HFA or Flovent HFA? • A: Proventil HFA is considered a rescue inhaler and should only be used on an as-necessary basis, as during the sudden onset of an asthma attack. Flovent is a long-acting inhaler and should be used on a regular basis, according to your doctor’s instructions. Use Flovent at the same time each day for the best results in controlling your asthma. Fluticasone (Flovent) helps prevent asthma attacks but won’t stop an asthma attack that has already started. Do not use fluticasone (Flovent) during an asthma attack.
