As we all know, in the middle of San Francisco Bay is the fabled Alcatraz. Most locals don’t bother to take the tour despite the fact that the Rock offers a lot to the discerning eye. For example, the thousands of birds and abundant plant life found on the island excite many a nature lover. Others simply like to experience its notorious past. In fact, hundreds of thousands of visitors, mainly out-of-towners, come every year spurred on by the over thirty American movies that have taken place here. Sources: Examiner.
