HDMI cables are all made to the same electrical and physical specifications. However, they vary in the quality of their build. It’s the same with SCART connectors so you’ll know what to look out for. Some of them have connectors thickly gold plated, these will not corrode and will last a long time. At the other end of the scale some have connectors which will corrode or work loose fairly quickly. Some have better quality internal screening so they’ll be less prone to picking up interference. You get what you pay for so look to be spending at least £30 for 1.5 metres. Don’t buy from Comet though, they’re expensive for what they’re selling. Try Maplin or John Lewis.
