Which has more carbs and is more fattening Lite Beer or Red Wine?
It varies widely and is near impossible to tell. Red wine averages 125 calories per serving and light (notice I didn’t spell it ‘lite’ and I’ll explain why in a minute) beer averages 98 per serving. Now there are reds that come in at under 100 calories and light beers (Sam Adams) that are as much as 124… In fact to be considered a light beer you need to have 124 calories or less per 12oz service… Guinness missed it by one calorie. Why I didn’t spell it “lite”: Lite is a trade mark of the Miller Brewing Co. and the use of trademarked material to describe a general category of products creates undo hardships for the smaller companies. Calling an adhesive bandage a Band-Aid for example. A cola flavored soda Coke or portable CD player a Disc-Man. All you are doing is creating branding and advertising for a company that may not deserve it.
