Which hardware companies have the contract for the Y2K OASIS server upgrade and which one will install my school’s server?
Optima and IPEX are the two companies contracted with the department for the supply, installation and support of the new Y2K OASIS servers. If your school advised the department in June that an appropriate network cable exists between the library and administration areas, or if your school is using an OASIS Adlib server, then your school would have already received a letter which indicates the type (IPEX or Optima) and size of server you will receive. Schools that have been authorised by the department to install a network cable between their administration and library areas will receive their letters in the near future. The selection of the server type for each school was based on the proximity of the school to a service centre belonging to Optima or IPEX.
