Which hand does an engagement ring go on?

Engagement ring should be on your left hand’s ring finger between middle finger and little finger.

The engagement ring goes on the left and on the ring finger, the one right next to the pinky, if by chance you have more than five fingers on your hand its the one to the right of your pinky. The reason for this is that there is a vein in that particular finger than leads directly to the heart, and you keep your loved one as close to your heart as possible, also when you finally walk down the aisle, the wedding band goes on the inside of the engagement ring so that it is the closest to the heart of the two rings. hope that helps. Also, i just proposed to the love of my life this evening, and she said YES, i am so happy i could cry.

As most of the answers above have said, in most countries the engagement ring traditionally goes on the left hand. It does however move to the right hand on the day of the wedding so that it doesn’t ‘get in the way’ of the wedding band. After the wedding ceremony the engagement ring then goes back to the left hand on top of the wedding band, that is to say that the engagement ring is the closer of the two ring to the tip of your finger.

Okay guys, the engagement ring goes on the Left hand on the ring finger (the one right next to the pinky). Basically it is because it is “reserving” that “space” for the wedding band. And of course it stears all the guys away from your girl when they see it there! lol! But yes, it goes on the left hand, traditionaly.

This confuses me. I’ve always thought that when you’re engaged, the engagement ring goes on your right hand and then when you are married the engagement ring joins the wedding band on the left hand.
