Which hamster breed is best?
A Syrian hamster would definitely suit you best. they are the biggest so they won’t be able to escape as easily (but all hamsters are amazing escape artists so watch out) also they are the slowest type of hamster, basically the smaller the hamster the faster it is, and Syrian hamsters are the biggest so that’s why. The evening is a good time for any hamster because they are nocturnal (they sleep in the day), the evening will be the morning to them, so it won’t be like your waking them in the middle of the night. All hamsters will bite if you don’t treat them properly, but if you learn how to handle them proberly and give them time, then you don’t have to worry about them biting you. i had a hamster for 2 and half years and i never got biten once. try buying a good hamster care book, or reading some websites about hamsters.
