Which frequency bands are best for relocating existing 2 GHz systems?
• Most systems can be relocated to many different frequency bands. Depending on the path length and capacity required, the 4, 6, 10 and 11 GHz low frequencies or the 18, 23 and 38 GHz high frequencies may be used by common carriers or private users. Federal government agencies will probably prefer the 4.5, 7 or 14 GHz bands. With the exception of certain geographic areas and of climatic regions experiencing especially difficult propagation characteristics, relocation to these frequency bands should result in performance similar to that of the 2 GHz band.
