Liverpool has named its airport after local legend John Lennon. In Belfast, the same accolade has been awarded to George Best, whose moniker welcomes you to the city airport there. Now the Irish Government has announced its intention to name Dublin Airport after someone equally famous. It wants to complete the naming process by the time it ends its long summer break and politicians return to business in September. The new name will be unveiled in time to coincide with the opening of the massive new Terminal Two at the capital’s international airport, built at a cost of a reported €1.2 billion.
