It has been widely rumored that Michael Jackson is suffering from Alpha 1-Antitrypsin Deficiency. A1AD is a very rare inherited genetic disorder which essentially launches an internal attack on the lungs and liver. This rumor began when Ian Halperin, a British writer, gave an interview to The Sun, and claimed that he had inside knowledge that Jackson suffers from A1AD and needs a lung transplant. Halperin is currently at work on an unauthorized biography of Jackson.
