Which event did Thousands Turn Out To Fight Breast Cancer?
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Over 4,300 Brevard County residents joined together at the American Cancer Society ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® 5K walk’ on Oct. 24. Presented by Lexus of Melbourne, Making Strides provides hope to all people facing the disease, and raised over $360,000 – surpassing the goal of $320,000. The noncompetitive event united the entire community to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate women about reducing their cancer risk, and raise money to fund lifesaving research and support programs to further the progress against this disease. “Time and energy are precious commodities today,” said Lana Saal, Event Chair. “I choose to volunteer to give back to an organization driven by the heart and soul of dedicated volunteers within our community and for our community.
