Which european monarchy enjoys the most popular support amongst its people?
Hard to say… the UK, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein all have monarchies and if there was any real problem with them they’d have been overthrown by now. Being British I know how it works here… full democracy with a mostly symbolic head of state who we have a real affection for, and when you have a constitutional monarchy like ours, the monarch keeps totally out of politics so there’s no reason for them to become unpopular, especially if they do the job right like Elizabeth II – 58 years without ever revealing her personal views is an incredible record.
