All versions of the Enterprise have the basic registration NCC-1701, except for the NX-01. James Kirk was in command of two Enterprise vessels: • NCC-1701 (The Original Series, and movies 1,2,3, and 11) • NCC-1701A (movies 4-6). In the movie Star Trek Generations Kirk was on-board at the christening of the NCC-1701B.
