Which engineering is better petroleum or aerospace?
Petroleum engineers are specialists in extracting oil and gas from deposits below the earth. Much of petroleum engineering is having an understanding of geology and working with geologists and other specialists to create the right drilling methods and monitoring them afterward. Environmental impact and financial gain are two factors that petroleum engineers need to work with as well. In terms of profit, there is a greater income potential for petroleum engineers than for aerospace engineers. The job of a petroleum can be a bit more high pressure and require longer hours and deadlines as well as profit margins that need to be met.
Aerospace engineers in contrast do not have as strict of deadlines or as many regulations to factor, such as environmental drilling, etc.
Petroleum Industry pays much more. I have a few friends (just oil/gas technicians/executives) without any university degrees presently working in the Petroleum Industry (e.g. SHELL, ExonMobil, etc) based in Asia with expats and they are earning extremely well not forgetting that petroleum/gas industry pays lucrative bonuses as well :() Well, it’s your Life and your choice. If you wish to pursue your future job in either Industries, I seriously suggest you check/make enquiries with the websites/people of such industries in your country, learn about their job criteria, their salary scale/margin, etc and then decide which major you wish to pursue.
