Which dog breed is better for me?Akita Inu or Pomeranian?
Malamute aren’t good with cats, even when raised with them, there also big! Malamutes are lively, tolerant and friendly dogs but should be carefully watched around cats and small dogs. In fact they really shouldn’t be raised in a family with small animals. Malamute puppies and adolescents require early obedience training because they turn into powerful and strong willed adult dogs who want to rule the household. This breed, while family friendly, should be supervised around small children. The Malamutes are not particularly good guard dogs or watch dogs as they are friendly to all strangers. The Malamutes love to please their owner and can be trained to be well mannered. The Alaskan requires a lot of attention, especially in the first two years otherwise it can turn destructive when bored. These dogs should have an experienced dog owner because of the need for firm handling and thorough obedience training Animal aggression. Most Alaskan Malamutes will not tolerate another dog of the sa
If you’re a first time dog owner I strongly suggest a Pomeranian because they are much smaller and easier to handle. One mistake people often make when getting a dog is getting on upon looks not how much they like the actual dog, unless you really like you’re ready and willing to take care of am Akita Inu I’d stick when a Pomeranian. About the German Shepherd comment, I’m sorry if you think that way but that’s totally not what a shepherd is like, nor is that the size of them. Yes they can be a large dog, but the Akita Inu is just as big if not bigger. And I have a German Shepherd who’s very petite, she weighs 65 pounds and is not that much taller than my 40-pound Border Collie. She’s not overweight either. She’s 8-years old and in really great shape, great temperament, great with my cat who we got a couple years ago and she had never been around cats much before, and really healthy. Again I suggest a Pomeranian.
A lot depends on the size of dog you want, because Akita Inus are a medium size dog and Pomeranians are a small breed of dog. They also have different personalities and traits. The best thing for you to do is to look online at the American Kennel Club site, akc.org. They will have pictures of the dogs and a description of their physical and personality traits. They also list any health concerns of each breed. After you read about the dog breeds, you will be able to decide which dog is best for you and your family. Best of luck. Hope I helped.
