Which direction should a ceiling fan rotate to keep a room cool?
Either direction works, but circulating the air up tends to work better. If you can’t figure out which way the air is moving follow this guide: If the blades are slanted like this: / and the fan moves in this direction: –> it is pushing air down. If they are slanted the same way: / and the fan moves in the opposite direction: <-- it is pushing air up, and that's the hot weather setting. Pretty easy if you visualize the movement and the air around the blades. I know, they're not slanted that much, but you get the idea...I hope. Good luck.
