Which currently mediocre national football teams will dominate world football in 20 years time?
It will never be the Dutch national team, because their best players are never on the field, but always on telly when the game is on. There they sit smugly together emptying bottles of wine and “analysing” the match by criticising every player and their coach. These chaps (probably) never played in their national team. Actually, they don’t have time for that mundane game, coz they have to appear in all sorts of commercials on telly, joining in on shows as experts of all sorts you can imagine, cheese rolling events; you name it they do it, except footie of course.
Cyprus!! Ok they won’t dominate (maybe actually no one knows) but they will be at least at England’s level of getting past group stages and then being knocked out in the knock out stages. I say this because football has become more serious in Cyprus and there are a lot of youngsters with bright futures who play for the team. They did above expectations in the qualifying stages for the Euro 2008. They held Germany to a draw and beat Wales and Ireland! AND they only lost to Czech Rep by a single goal. They had three or four off-games where they should have won but didn’t but that is still an improvement from previous campiagns.
russia like tennis they will take time but eventually they will dominate look how many russian tennis stars there are now since kournikova made it popular and came to the forefront and each time russia do a little better in the soccer tournaments eg euro 2008 they become stronger in the next one and lets face it look at there population they have more chance of picking 11 good ones to us AS ALL OUR TOP PREMIER PLAYERS ARE FOREIGNERS
