The DIGILAB picoMAX is shipped without crystal oscillator. This is because it is only necessary for registered logic and in case such logic is implemented the user will want to be able to choose the correct frequency for his application. In case the board is used with a 5V MAX 7000 device, the supply voltage will need to be set to 5V. In this case any ordinary 5V crystal oscillator in 8 pin or 14 pin DIL package will do.
