The short answer is none, with the exception of humans, and it is rare that humans have life mates. This story about animals mating for life is just not true. Unfortunately many people believe the lies perpetuated by cartoons and the so called nature films. People are also guilty of attributing human characteristics to animals, anthropomorphism. Animals do not have human emotions. An animal will feel pain, but does not feel regret. This is what you need to understand about animal life. The prime directive is survival.
