Which computer is best for animation?
In my experience if you are on a budget and you are producing 3D GGI animations then it is better to go for a high speed processor and lot’s of RAM before an expensive graphics card, although both would be ideal. A good graphics card will increase the speed and quality at which you can preview your animations within the software suite whilst you create it, but has no effect whatsoever on the time it takes to render your animations once they are complete, which is dependent on your processor and ram (and can be painfully slow at the best of times). It is also your processor and ram that will determine the amount of vertices and faces you are able to work with before you start to suffer serious slowdown. Remember a graphics card can only present what the mother board is capable of producing. Of course if your budget is unlimited then go for the latest quad core, hyper RAM super computer with top of the range graphics and HD monitor, but if like most of us you’ve got to go for something i
