Which computer course?
If you book yourself to do some of the units on the OCN courses – separate units and accredited, at level one, or even entry level, you should be able to get through one unit well within a term, i.e. 20 weeks, 2 hours per week. You could do any number of programs – and then when your confidence has built up and you are more expertise in the programs, then you could sit an ICDL course but because you will have learned and practised the basics already through OCN, possibly you could have just one lesson in each unit of ICDL and sit the tests straight away. There are 7 in all. Starting with OCN I would recommend: Word Processing: Foundation National Code: CQ11WN012 Introduction to Spreadsheets National Code: CP31CY001 Powerpoint – National Code: CQ51WN004 Introduction to the Internet and email Code: CR11WN005 Introduction to Databases. National Code: CP21CY003 These would give you a good foundation and from there move very easily to ICDL/ECDL.
