Look for some of the new patterned towels in tone-on-tone mixes: coffee cream, dark chocolate + celadon green, dark coffee brown +light blue, dark brown +sage green, dark brown +rusty orange, etc. As far as a faux finish, only do a faux finish if you Really Love faux finishes. They are tricky to do your self without making it look weird, and some finishes are not appropriate for a bathroom or high-traffic zone (Suede and sandstone looks are not good in places where you will want to clean the walls) and it is very expensive to have it done professionally if you choose to go that route.
