Which college is best at Durham University?
There’s no advantage in academic terms, so you should consider things like whether you want to be near your department and whether you want to be at a more traditional college or not. The ones on the hill (grey, aiden’s etc) tend to be more modern in accommodation style whereas the bailey ones have older houses but have the advantage of being near the centre of town (though to be honest unless you’re in van mildert or josephine butler none of them are really far away). To be honest it’s very hard to go wrong, I’ve never heard of someone wanting to change college, and although I’ve never actually been inside St Mary’s it seems a good choice – good cross section of people, nice location.
