According to SMPTE 274M 8.7 the following code values can be used for legal range HD video in 10 bit systems: 64-940 for RGB and Y and 64-960 for Cb and Cr. ALEXA complies with the code value ranges as defined in this standard. According to SMPTE 274M 8.12 the following code values can be used for extended range (called undershoot/overshoot in SMPTE 274M 8.12) HD video in 10-bit systems: 4-1019 for RGB and YCbCr. ALEXA makes use of the full 4-1019 code values for extended range, just like the D-21.
