Which climbing wall facility employees must undergo a criminal history inquiry/background check?
All employees age 18 or over must undergo a criminal history inquiry or CORI provided through the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board (“CHSB”) or comparable third-party provider. These employees may include Climbing Wall Facility Managers; Climbing Wall Facility Staff and any Climbing Wall Facility Staff Assistants, ages 18 or over, in addition to the owner who shall have a criminal history inquiry performed by the Department prior to licensure. All Climbing Wall Facility Managers, Staff, and Assistants age 18 or over must undergo a criminal history inquiry annually, regardless of whether a similar inquiry was previously performed as a component of other employment. The Department performs the CORI on the Climbing Wall Facility owner.
