Lots of cameras are used for film, tv, advertising, etc. Small – medium sized production companies prefer cameras like the Sony PMW-EX1 or EX3 (http://www.sonybiz.net/biz/view/ShowProduct.action?product=PMW-EX1&site=biz_en_EU&pageType=Overview&category=XDCAMCamcorders) Or Canon has a nice line of mid-range HD cameras like the XHA1 (http://www.canon.ca/english/index-products.asp?lng=en&prodid=1076&sgid=5&gid=2&ovr=1) XLH1 (http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-camcorders/canon-xl-h1/4505-6500_7-31556313.html) Or the famous XL2 (http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-camcorders/xl2-camcorder/4505-6500_7-30974574.html) Th XL2 is not HD, but is still a broadcast quality camera. These cameras are $10,000 and under. If you’re willing to spend more you can look into JVC’s line of broadcast XDCAMs, also Sony has a nice line of broadcast XDCAMs.
