Which came 1st…..Kendo or Kumdo?
Kendo came way before Gumdo ever did regardless of any claims the Korean’s may state. In 1965 there was a Kendo demonstration in Korean and soon after they began to teach their own method of this art. There is a Korean dojang about an hour from here and they keep telling people that Gumdo was developed 100 years before Kendo…it is just sad…that is the same things as saying TKD is over 2,000 years old when everyone in martial arts knows that TKD was never heard of before the 1950’s.
