Canon is better than Casio as Casio is good for calculators. I would recommend Olympus as I own one as well and it is easy to operate even for someone who totally has no experience in handling digital cameras. There are low range cheap Olympus models as well. Look out for Courts advertisement. There are sometimes offer of about $199.00. Hope this answers your query.

in my opinion canon sd1000 is better than casio but i personally like canon sd950 and sd750 more than sd100
