Which brand of Green Tea is the best for aiding weight loss?
Instead of “weight loss teas,” which is just branding by some marketer who wants to cash in, try looking at specific TYPES of tea. For instance, green tea has types like Dragon Well, Pi Lo Chun, Sencha, Gunpowder, Matcha, and dozens more. Each has its own flavor, its own preparation, and its own pleasures. They all have lots of polyphenol antioxidants & caffeine, which are the substances clinical studies have linked to weight loss (in lightly to moderately obese individuals). The type of tea matters more than the brand– though I say find a reputable online dealer (Art of Tea, which I sell, or Rishi, or Mellow Monk) and stay away from store-bought brands. Most of the big ones (Lipton, say) use low-grade tea that tastes like crap. The smaller, “artisan” brands focus on the type of tea, and you get a better cup. When you find a type of tea you like, rather than just one that’s marketed as a magic potion, you’ll get a lot more enjoyment and flavor out of it.
