Virgil’s Aenied is an epic poem about Aeneus – a Trojan who leaves the city after the war and travels to Italy. British Poet Christopher Logue has (over the past several decades) written his own version of the Iliad. Collectively, the 4 volumes are called War Music. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Music Several Ancient Greek playwrights used it as the background to their plays. Ovid mentions the war in his Metamorphoses. Also, Troilus and Cressida by Shakespeare (and his source of it – the poem by Chaucer). There are lots of modern ones as well. I remember reading a book when I was a teenager about it – I think the book was published in the 60s and called “Whom the Gods would destroy” – it wasn’t very good.
