Which book should i read, The Golden compass or Jacob have I Loved?
Jacob have I Loved is a great book, indeed. But I honestly have to say that The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman is a better book, and much more interesting and fun to read. The story of Lyra’s is a great story worth reading. And if you enjoy the golden compass as much as I did, then you could try reading the second book (the subtle knife) and the third book (the amber spyglass). It’s a great little trio of books also known as His Dark Materials. The Golden Compass is a story of love, passion and family. Reading this story would truely benefit anyone. Once in a lifetime a children’s author emerges who is so extraordinary that the imagination of generations is altered. Lewis Carroll, E Nesbit, CS Lewis and Tolkein were all of this cast. So too, is Philip Pullman.
