Which book is better? Virgin Suicides, Bell Jar or Girl Interrupted?
I’ve read all three, and I have to say Girl, Interrupted is the best. The Virgin Suicides wasn’t great; it was readable, but not spectacular. The Bell Jar is very good, but Sylvia Plath wrote it as fiction, based on her life, whereas with Girl, Interrupted, Susanna Kaysen wrote it as a memoir, so it’s very honest, and Susanna is a fascinating person. So overall, Girl, Interrupted is definitely the best of the three.
